Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen enjoyed a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the closing table in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a huge pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While betting on online poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. Gus often participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the min takes a majority of the ability out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the greatest poker players in the world but he can’t buy-in for the total amount. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world might be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found gambling on web poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in high stakes Omaha and hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in cash rounds?
