NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor on the globe by most of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to pickup every little thing he could about the game. He would tell his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not allow the adverse feedback from other people destroy his ambition of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

Phil began playing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his game at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed a number of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to hard work and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. He states that he is learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making blunders in each session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Although Phil has won some large tournaments, he favors winning cash games on a normal basis.
