Internet High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

[ English ]

Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to make it to the last game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a huge pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best enthusiasts around the world. While betting on net poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He regularly competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then goes all in. I know Gus is an amazing poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has little or no reason to settle at the table with the min buy in.

Buying in for the min takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I believe television can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest players anywhere in the world could be guys you have never heard about. Gus can be found wagering on net poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in big stakes omaha hold’em and Holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he use his talents in money rounds?
