Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the regular 52-card common deck and a single joker. The gambler is given 7 cards face up and the casino is given 7 cards face down.
One 5 card hand and a two card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards dealt, the five card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the houses.
