NL Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Posted in Poker on 01/16/2022 04:25 pm by LillyPhil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker contender on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching the age of 1. His grandfather taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup everything he possibly could about the game. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not let the negative feedback from other people annihilate his goal of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.
Phil began competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed many of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to discipline and an eternal love for the game of poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Phil knows he makes errors in each game of poker and always aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a normal basis.
