No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker contender in the world by most of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa showed him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover every little thing he possibly could about poker. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not let the negative feedback from other people annihilate his ambition of being one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

He began competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a normal basis.
